I can, I do and I will be”
Our mission statement
At Example School we pride ourselves on the standards and expectations we have on a
daily basis. We have established a school culture where both students and staff recognise that only their very best efforts will do. The result of this is a school where students have access to a unique and innovative curriculum that covers a broad range of subjects and experiences. At the school we place value not only in ensuring students leave highly qualified but having had a full range of experiences that test and develop their character making sure they are ready to live a fulfilling and purposeful life.
We place great emphasis on ensuring our young people excel in the core essential subjects of English, maths and science but also in sparking a passion for history, geography and modern foreign languages, whilst also providing an enriching wider curriculum where they can develop their talents in art, sport, performing arts and technology.
Supporting our broad, balanced and innovative curriculum is a pastoral programme that focuses on the personal development of each young person. Our aim is not to just produce highly qualified young people but individuals that are resilient, confident, determined, curious about the world and aspiring to make a lasting contribution to society.
All of this only works if we provide our young people with the conditions and environment in which they can flourish and grow. Combined with our challenging and engaging curriculum we have established a culture based on the notion that students should be the best version of themselves every day. This means working hard in lesson, treating each other fairly and respectfully, forming strong purposeful relationships with our staff and seizing the opportunities being a BCA student will offer them.
One of the things that I am most proud of is the emphasis and investment we place in continually improving our teachers. Teachers at BCA fully understand that to work in our school you need to invest time and energy in improving as a teacher. We see it as our professional obligation to improve. We know that having teachers who consistently challenge themselves and their colleagues to become better will only result in a positive educational experience for our students.
The BCA teachers are wholly committed to improving themselves and improving the life chances of the students in their care. Everybody at BCA aspires to be successful each day. Whether it’s a teacher working to improve their delivery, a Year 11 student striving to succeed in their GCSE exams or a new Year 7 aiming to make a great first impression it’s all encapsulated in our motto: I can, I do and I will be.
I look forward to meeting you, offering you the warmest of welcomes and along with the whole BCA Team providing the highest quality education for your child for the next five years
