Welcome to our web page. Throughout the year we will be using seasons to influence our learning.
During the Autumn term we will getting to know our new environment, creating class rules, exploring our emotions linked to the Colour Monster and discussing our special families.
Useful Information
Outdoor Play - Children have the opportunity to learn outside every day, what ever the weather! Please provide a spare set of clothes for changing for rainy days and water play. Named wellies can be brought into school for Forest Fridays. A warm waterproof coat should be brought to school everyday.
PE - PE is on a Thursday. Children will need to come into school wearing their PE kit. This consists of Black joggers or leggings, plain white t-shirt, velcro trainers. A black hoody or school jumper can be worn on PE days. PE sessions will start Thursday 29th September, every Thursday following this date.
Children are required to bring in their reading book in school every day. Home reading must be completed at least 3 times per week. Parents/Carers please sign the reading record each time. Further details of how to support your child to read will be posted on class dojo.
Our Class Timetable:
Phonics - We follow Little Wandle phonics. Phonics is taught every day, letter sounds and names are taught and appplied to reading and writing. We also practise reading and writing high frequency and tricky words.
Mathematics - Daily maths games and activities support children's understanding of number and numerical pattern. Maths is part of our everyday routines.
Literacy - Books and reading is a huge part of our Reception daily routines. Books are used to engage the children's interest and spark curiosity and explore new language. In Reception we use Talk f4 Reading and Talk 4 Writing to encourage application of phonics. An inbiting reading area and daily story time encouarges the pupils to be readers and story tellers.
