3-4 Year Olds Nursery - Sunflowers Class 2022 - 2023
Mrs Barta
Lead Practitioner
Mrs Calrow
Class Teacher
Welcome to our new families and our returning children. The Nursery children have settled in very well. They have already experienced a lot of amazing and exciting things. Hopefully this website will allow you to have a look at the amazing work and the experiences that the children are having here in Nursery.
In Nursery, children learn through play, talk, exploration and observation of the world around them. They have the opportunity to pursue their own, child-initiated activities and interests, as well as adult-led activities and topics, and have daily phonics and maths sessions.
All nursery staff help children to learn and develop through both child led and adult led activities. Children develop quickly in the Early years, and teachers aim to do all they can to help all children to have the best possible start to school life.
Mrs Barta and Mrs Calrow are the class teachers, Miss Kelly and Mrs Walker are our teaching assistants.
Useful information
- Outdoor play: We spend a lot of time outside and your child will need a spare change of clothes in school as we play in water and our mud kitchen. We provide waterproofs but children can still become muddy and wet.
- Warm clothing: Please ensure your child has a suitable coat and footwear for the autumn weather. All children will need a labelled hat when the weather starts to become cold.
- PE is on a Friday and it would help if children could wear trainers on this day
Autumn Term
All about me
At the start of our year we will learn more about ourselves and our friends.
Through this theme the children will engage in many activities based on the following...'My home', 'My family', 'My body',and 'Class rules'.
We will also explore Autumn and seasonal changes, by visiting our own Froggy Forest. Can you spot signs of Autumn at home?
In Literacy we will read the stories Where's Spot? and We're going on a Bear Hunt. We will learn to tell the stories using actions. Ask us to tell you the story at home, you can find a copy of the story map on Class Dojo.
Nursery sessions are 8. 40 - 11. 40 and 12.20 - 3.20. Some children will stay all day, children who access 30 hours will finish at 12 pm on a Friday, as this is when the 30 hours for the week will be complete.
If you need our help or have any questions, feel free to contact us at the end of the day.
